A Family Tradition of Creativity and Craftsmanship
Beyond Sewing was founded by a mother and daughter united by a shared passion for creativity, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design. Coming from a family of makers, artists, and entrepreneurs, we grew up surrounded by handmade objects and the belief that creating something yourself is one of life's most rewarding experiences.
Our great-grandmother, Else, worked as a directrice, and sewing, textiles, and fine craftsmanship were an integral part of everyday life. This appreciation for quality, creativity, and timeless craftsmanship has been passed down through generations and continues to shape everything we create today.
Every sewing pattern in our collection is designed entirely by us—from the very first sketch and measurements to pattern drafting, sample sewing, testing, grading, and detailed instructions. Each design is carefully developed in our atelier with great attention to fit, functionality, and beautiful finishing details.
Our goal is simple: to create modern sewing patterns that are enjoyable to sew, easy to understand, and rewarding to wear. Whether you are making your very first garment or have years of sewing experience, we want every project to be inspiring, approachable, and a pleasure from the first stitch to the last.
